$1.9 Million Delivered to Support Landowners’ Installation of Meter and Telemetry

Through the Bureau of Reclamation Meter and Telemetry Grant Program, the McMullin Area Groundwater Sustainability Agency (MAGSA) has provided $1.9 million in rebates to participating landowners, helping offset the cost of installing required metering and telemetry systems.

To date, more than 800 rebates have been issued. With only six months remaining in the grant funding period, MAGSA is actively working with landowners who are still completing compliance requirements to ensure they can access available funding.

Landowners who still need to submit receipts or documentation are encouraged to do so as soon as possible to avoid delays. Having reliable measurement and reporting systems is vital. MAGSA cannot afford to risk its future on estimates. With only a groundwater supply source, meters are providing MAGSA with firm data to know accurately what is being pumped and also gives the landowner another irrigation management tool.
