Aquaterra Notice of Preparation for Environmental Review Available

A Notice of Preparation has been prepared to notify agencies and interested parties that the McMullin Area Groundwater Sustainability Agency (MAGSA) is preparing an Environmental Impact Report pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) for the Aquaterra Water Bank Project.

The Aquaterra Water Bank infrastructure will include canals, basins, and on-farm recharge sites for water banking (the storage of water underground for later recovery) to take place in MAGSA. This is a major project designed to improve local groundwater conditions, develop surface water conveyance for local landowners and to increase the overall reliability of our region’s water supply.

The Notice of Preparation, which includes a project description, maps, and the project’s Initial Study, is available for review on the Aquaterra website.
